Vancouver Trip ~Part Deux~ (really delayed)

Well the night before the game we all settled at Lisa's and her roomates house, it was cool we played some card games that went no where...we were all tired and Clint and I were just anxious for the next day to watch the big game!

Here are some pics of Karsten, Matt and I trying to figure out a camera, my cousin Lisa and her roomate...

Vancouver is not only a magnet for pretentious coffee drinking hippies, it is also a nice looking city, filled with cool buildings and weather that switched from sunny 10 degrees to -7 ...sigh....

Once we found a place to eat, it wasn't long till Clint was hit on by three girls, who wanted a picture with him...who know's why...I guess his brokeback mountain ways attract ladies some how as well...so anyways I also took a picture of him with these ladies...who left sad, when Clint told them he was married...which was good...although I didn't appreciate the fact that he said he was married to me...sigh......
Clint and I spent a bit of the time after that comment just staring in to space, both wondering what he really meant by that... It was around this time that I reminded Clint that the quickest way to a man's heart is with Chuck Norris' fist...after that Clint was a bit stunned but understood what I was saying...
After some food we got to the arena and waited...Here in the following picture I am trying my best to fit in, I wore my cousins barrette it was the only way i could look Russian and pass for Chubarov... the security guard was less then impressed as he escorted me out of the players entrance but as I reminded him thatI knew Chuck Norris (which is a bit of a lie) he gave me thumbs up and walked away in a manner that began with slow steps that turned faster and faster into a full galop...

Once at the arena we were given a nice treat, as CBC took all the Hab fans and taped them yelling junk at Vancouver...and then we all ran at the camera which was all broadcasted during the first CBC game between Toronto and Ottawa, which was sweet...joke on them though is that I am a Vancouver fan...wearing a canucks jersey...yet none of them noticed that...well they are CBC...

Clint and I posed beside some pic's of Vancouver player's and for some reason the crew of sportsnet.....

Ok this thing is getting way to big...enjoy the Part Deux...and stay tuned for part 3, including the resolution on our meeting with Kelly Hruedy... I will leave you with these words of wisdom though: Behind every successful man, there is a woman. Behind every dead man there is Chuck Norris....

Thanks For CHOKING again RUSSIA....

Thanks for choking again you useless Russians...Big Red Lada Machine...what a bunch of meat heads...did they not know that the Fin's were going to trap and ice the puck the whole game...did they not know that if they take stupid penalties the Fin's were going to score...did they not know that if you want to score you actually have to hit the net...what a bunch of over paid idiots...I hope they loose to Czech's and go home with nothing...useless figure skaters... After such a brilliant game against the Canadians...to come out so slow and lazy ohhhh what a joke.

Gold game in the Quarter Finals?

Well the time has come, in a few short hours the two teams that really matter in this tournament will play today...Russia vs. Canada...I used to be very hopeful when it came to Russia playing anyone BUT recent woes and plagued preformances of just not being able to get it done worries me...makes me believe that this game could be the same...sigh... Russian Hockey seems to be the Italy of Soccer...they seem to have all the tools they seem to be cruising they seem to have put good stuff together and then they choke...this trend has continued and has me worried about the upcoming game... So heres hoping there is more of this:

But lets be honest what most Russian fans miss is the unbreakable dynasty... what we really need is these guys back 'the green unit':

Vancouver Trip ~Part 1~

Well apparently Clint has found his camera so I am going to start posting some of the pics we took that I had on my camera and by part 2 will have the rest...enjoy...the adventure of a life time...
The trip begins with us driving to the airport...this bearded fellow is my buddy Clint...Clint and I go way back to high school, where we stalked girls and played a lot of hockey and tennis...till he married my cousin, for obvious reasons I would say...he had a boy crush on me, and I was taken so then next logical step is my cousin. (broke back moment :| )

Here we are flying to Vancouver......and of course Clint tries to make out with me...well its par for the course with this fellow...just think he's a Jr. High pastor...well at least he was...
In Vancouver we go over our choices of renting a car......we thought about going the ford 'I'm a piece of crap' tempo route...but knowing that we are going to be in a big city and needed to look like we got 'bling' we did it...we went with the Volvo S -Class...all leather and other technical talk that would fit nicely if I remembered what it was...all I can say is that this car was phat...yes ph-phat!
And yes this car did have a GPS system which was awesome and in fact was worshiped a little since we had no way of knowing how to get anywhere...instead of being lost...we were on time and ready, where is that restaurant???

Clint and the GPS unit...yes we are real tourists...

I have to admit that Vancouver is a sweet looking town...

Our first stop was to see my cousin Lisa, who we were staying with and she of course works at star-bucks, and if you have visited Vancouver you will notice that this is the main driving force of the local economy, since there is a store on every corner, literally....I always thought that was a bit of a joke...but to my surprise nope it was true... It was interesting to see so many pretentious hipsters every where with their scarf's and tweed jackets with the lame Ramones shirts under the jacket, all that was missing to make my day is some 'mother-earth' poster...or perhaps 'save the whales' one...ohh that would have been sweet...ok we get it, your misunderstood poets...with your laptop typing, scarf wearing, tea drinking, and nose piercing, short mohawk haircuts...yes we get it the world is a cruel vampire in which your just a rat in a cage, ohh the cruel world that just doesn't understand you...

Ok anyways... so the next stop was to pick her up after work and grab my brother in-laws who both happen to live near Vancouver and go eat, this was the best part as we went to some sweet pasta place that gave us each a trough to eat out of, soooooo much food...wow...

Another broke back moment was when Clint tried to feed me pasta from his fork, man if I only had my tweed jacket with a scarf there...that would have been perfect...Karsten, Jessica's brother was the big winner since every one gave their leftover portions to him...since he is a 'starving college boy' he now had food enough for a month... well this is just part 1 stay tuned as we get to part 2 and have a resolution on my meeting with Kelly Hrudey...speaking of tweed jackets!
