Last day...

Well it is absolutely bizarre and weird to write about the last day at the office... But today is my last day in my office as youth pastor of this church where I have been 7 years. This room has seen a lot. There has been much laughter, crying, happiness, sadness and all in between that have occurred here. It's very strange to know that I won't be coming in here with my coffee in the morning to get my day started. I don't even know how I fully feel about that. What I do know that I have wrestled in this room with God, I have prayed and asked God questions and I have listened. This room is just a room, and yet it holds many memories... I think I will just sit and reflect on that a bit more and take it all in for the last time...

Dearest Brother Paul,
Yep - your office looked very empty tonight. I pray God will send us someone with the same passion and enthusiasm for youth and youth ministry. However, I would like to report your senior youth sponsors had a very productive meeting tonight as we plan to bridge the gap between your departure and your replacement's arrival. We have a great core group remaining from last year and some exciting new additions that round out the sponsor team. We pray that God will use us to continue the great work He was doing through you. You were dearly missed at our meeting and will be dearly missed in the future. God is great and He has awesome and exciting plans for you in the future - our prayers and thoughts go with you. God bless you and your family, my brother, as you continue to follow His leading.

Your Brother in Christ
Duane

Thanks for such kind words Duane! It is so encouraging to see what you guys are doing and I know the youth are in good hands!! Anytime you come to the west coast you know you have a friend and a home!

Peace,
Paul

PS - love the quote :)

Dearest brother Paul:
(I like Duane's salutation)
Be encouraged as you walk in the way that has been revealed to you. Be encouraged that you've had a beautiful influence on many young lives. Be encouraged that you are already on a wonderful journey that is going to be full of 'firsts' and new things in the weeks ahead.
love you.

All the best in the next chapter - may you never cease to wrestle and squirm in the presence of the Almighty...
